Welcome to JMDb, where creativity meets craftsmanship. I’m James Murdock, a versatile creator with a passion for building things—whether it’s a dynamic website, a captivating logo, or even a house. My background spans development, design, branding, and construction, all of which blend together in my work to create unique and impactful experiences.
My journey began early, influenced by my father, who was an artist, writer, and tech enthusiast. His love for knowledge, creativity, and being a jack-of-all-trades shaped my curiosity and drive to master a wide range of tools and trades. From filming my own movies as a kid to developing content for businesses and designing for bands today, I’ve always loved the process of bringing ideas to life. This desire to create continues to fuel my career and personal projects.
I’m currently working in construction, where I find the principles of design and development overlap with the physical process of building—whether it’s a structure, a brand, or a digital product. Just like in architecture or graphic design, everything begins with a foundation, and each element builds upon the last to create something functional and beautiful. It’s this blend of artistry and practicality that excites me about every project.
Lately, I’ve been thrilled to work with the band Dead Churches, creating album art, logos, and merchandise. It’s an exciting step into the world of music design, a field I’ve always wanted to explore. Whether I’m designing for a band, crafting a brand’s identity, or tackling a new web development challenge, I strive to bring both creativity and precision to everything I do.
Outside of work, you’ll find me enjoying the same creative processes that sparked my passion years ago—whether it’s working with maps, playing sports, or making music. I believe in the power of detail, teamwork, and finding joy in each project, and I aim to carry these values into all my work.
